i love [light]

What can I say? This session was wonderful! I spent the morning with yet-again another amazing family. Buena Vista Social Club was playing in the background which really set the tone. (It also didn't hurt that the home was stylish, the day was bright with gorgeous light and the family was beautiful!) I had such a terrific time.

I really can't wait for more great sessions moving into Spring when I can just focus on having fun and capturing beautiful images instead of worrying about finding good light. I love working with natural light. It makes everyone's complexion look so smooth and creamy and as the days get longer and brighter I'm so excited to have more and more light to work with. (Although as I type this it's snowing outside! Eeeek.)

Thanks for the great day Amy and Grant. I loved working with you and your awesome kids!

welcoming [smiles]

When it's time to post photos here on my blog I often sit for the longest time wondering what to type because I always want to say the same thing... I have the nicest clients! Sorry to sound like a broken record player but it's true. I love walking in the door to hugs and welcoming smiles. It always sets the tone for the rest of the session.

This family was no different. Mom is the director of an early childhood music and movement program which is perfectly suited to her friendly and enthusiastic nature. She and her family had a great attitude and made the session so much fun that I refuse to even call it work!

Thanks for the great time Carolyn and Warren. I hope we can work together again in the future. And hey... before moving on to the photos, check out Carolyn's Kindermusik With Notable Kids program by clicking HERE.

loads and loads of [energy]

I haven't posted in a while because we were away on holidays in Hawaii. We had a terrific vacation so it's difficult returning to chilly Vancouver, but I'm happy to get back into the swing of things and start working with more families to capture some great memories with photography.

As for the photos below... what can I say? This was a very, er, energetic shoot. Three boys with only their mom Tara and I to wrangle them into submission? Wow. It was a ton of fun but I was exhausted when it was all over. All I can say is that I certainly admire you Tara. You've got your hands full with three terrific boys who obviously bring you great joy. Thanks for letting me share the day with you!
